Before Chritsmas MP match if players are interested (Match)

The next Hollydays will make many of us have different family commitements and change of schedules. However I want to propose a MP match for the 23rd December at 1900 GMT, 2000CET, 1400East, 1100 Pacific for those interested provided we can gather enough and interested players.
For this reason those of you interested post here your availability and we will select a map according to the player numbers and preferences.

I'm guessing the game will be in 1.03b+ LWAMI 3.00b, unless SCS releases the full 1.03 patch in which case it the game would be in 1.03 + LWAMI 3.00 full, which Amizaur and I still have yet to make... :hug: .

You can find the LWAMI Mod in the mod forum (http://www.orionwarrior.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=40) and on www.subguru.com , make sure you grab the additional doctrine updates as well! :smile:

oh and im great on sonar on the ffg but... :frown: i cant get the hang of demon but if i just listen i am good at classifying between platform-groups that way... (surface, american subs, russian aluka, ships, speedboats, planes... but i am bad at using DEMON)

The map we will play is a good one made by Oneshot, called Defend the STROG.
This is the description:

Title : Defend the Straight of Gibraltar (STROG)

Mission Description : A renegade Kilo is attempting to leave the Mediteranean through the Straight of Gibraltar (STROG). Intel has confirmed that the Captain of that boat wants to head to the Channel and wreak havoc. The U.S. has a small TaskGroup on station consisting of a FFG (+1 Helo), a P-3 (operating from a nearby Airfield)and a 688i Submarine entering the Mediteranean through the STROG.

Their Task is to find the Kilo and destroy it. Unconfirmed Reports state that there might be an Akula-II sub protecting the Kilo, Intel is currently working feverishly to confirm or deny this.

I'll take any platform, but am most lethal in the Akula or in the MH-60 when there is a willing MPA around (I got a big ear you got lots of torpedoes, lets get together and make submarines dead... :attack: )

notice were gettin a little heavy helo pilots not enough Orion pilots, would like to stay helo (been practicing all week) but am willing to switch if becomes neccesary (anyone wanna volenter im not that familer orion) willing to take a second on the helo as well.

also as a note furia is the one with the heavy workload if any of you ask nicley and agree to orders he might let you stay on the ship i promise the ride will be a lot smother then up with me onboard the vomit comet i've read the weather report and its gonna be real bumpy and the pilot well he's just not right in the head :rolleyes:

there seems to be a mass defection among the russian submarine division. whats the matter guys got tired of breathing each others BO:biggrin:

would also like to add would pefer to ms with someone who has ts but is not a rule, also would like to cling to my beloved chopper but want to be flexible. really though someones gotta voulenter for those russian subs (shivers at the thought of Luft and Tlam teamed up) im willing to do it (ms or single) but youd pretty much be fighting the autocrew im not a submainer at heart and wouldnt be much challenge

also like to add that ive been working really hard on getting a multistaion set up and can currently run 2stations in front of me ive really been itchen to put this through its paces so if no one has any objections id like to log that into the server as well

thought i read somewhere in the Geneva convention that the serving of beans to submarine crews is considered cruel and unusual punishment to animals :eek:

also bad for the acoustics.. that is unless the entire crew can say in unision "the dog did it" thus creating another soundwave that is exaactly 180 deg out of phase of the offending noise canceling it out:rolleyes:

Soundken, great idea about the meeting point. We will meet on the Flashchat of this site.
I will prepare a roster according to the people avalaible.
I can drive the FFG, the P-3 or any helo. If we get more players than platforms we will select a map according to the number of players.

Victory conditions: Russian subs must inflict at least 50% damage on the Roosevelt.

Weather: Clear
Sea State: 2
SSP: Convergence zone
Bottom: Rock
Depth: 3000-9000ft in principal AO; nearby island shallows.

Background: The ruling Ultranationalist party of Russia has been backing a revolutionary movement in the former Soviet state of Georgia. The United States confirmed Russian involvement on 16 April 2008 with the capture of rebel leader Bakur Papashvili, who gave up Russian plans to use the revolution as a pretext for invasion. The United Nations condemned the Russian interfe
rence, and the US sent the USS Ronald Reagan to the Black Sea to support the legitimate Georgian government. US forces began fighting a limited war against the revolutionary forces.

The Russians have condemned the US for meddling in regional affairs, and have warned that further action could result in open conflict. Russian armor is currently massing on the border, and their fighter and bomber forces have been put on alert. Northern Fleet naval assets have been moved into the Mediteranean.

The US has decided to intervene directly if Russian tanks cross the border. I would like we start the match in time so please join the chat not later than 1945 GMT. we will assign platforms as soon as you join the chat so the early ones will get their platffomr of choice and the late ones will get what is left.
From what I have seen on this scenario description we are aiming for a fleet battle of interesting possibilities and a lot of fun and challenging.

my comp Pen celeron 2.1 gig 1 gig ram 256meg vid card/ isp cable (premium) averages between 200k -400k downlods (depending on the site)

runs DW no hangs glitches or studders..... i did build it myself and every once in a while it des a cold reset on its own (possesed i think) but this is only a random orcurance usually when ive been running it for a really long time

obviously is someone playing has an aliienware monster supercomputer than by all means please host otherwise im willing to do it

The flashchat doesn't work for me.

This because I purposefully disabled flash. Why? To reclaim that horrible cpu usage that comes from just having a page loaded in the web browser. Animated ads are one thing, but when they come at the cost of stutter in anything you're trying to do, wether play a game (DW) or watch a movie...

And reenabling it is just such a pain...

If we're using the orionwarrior TS server, then I might just show up there.

As for platform, I can fill out what is needed. Mainly exception being russian sonars.
