Since the developers for the Wiki/vBulletin bridge apparently fixed this feature I enabled the Talk pages redirect towards the Forum. That way it should be easier to follow those discussion and see if something new has come up.

I'll paste the stuff from the original Talk page below

== SUGGESTION: To do List ==

At first, sorry for my mistakes, but since English is not my native language its hard for me to avoid them..

I thought about some kind of "To Do List" where all the different authors could list up what they are going to do in the next time. This would insure that articles are not mixed up by different authors working on it simultaniously. In addition other lists (for example about tutorials, guides or other stuff for which permission is needed to add them) could be added to give a overview about the work which needs to be done, and what is already done.

If this lists already exists or this discussion page is obsolet in any other way, please delet and inform me about it.
Should this system be accepted and used this section can be deleted

== Lists==

Here are the lists i spoke of:

=== TO DO LIST ===

* complet this discussion page
* continue this list..

=== "COPYRIGHT UNCLEAR" LIST ===

* I found a guide in one of my Download-folder ("Kapitans_Russian_sub_guide_06.doc") which i would like to include but i'm not sure about the copyright. I would like to ask the author but i need at last an e-mail adress or some sort to do so. Does anyone know the author or his mail-adress?

The author for that particular guide is "Kapitain" (just look over at subsim). Hotmail : the_artic_skipper@hotmail.co.uk

* continue this list...

=== "IDEAS" ===

* A table of Links to Infos about all the plattforms, weapons, etc. in the game. May be at first only links to the wikipedia articles and later when possible links to other sites or documents...

** Good idea, you can find a number of links for the platforms and Naval Warfare in general in the links section. However question is the copyright on that information, especially from pages like globalsecurity.org or FAS.org

* Special articles about the different playable plattforms with all the important stuff in it (e.g. in-game-capabilities, sensor-ranges etc.)

* continue this list

* A section about the mission editor. Include tips&tricks how to create sophisticated missions and list workarounds for platforms (for instance air combat) which are difficult to use in DW.

== Mission Editor Section ==

I've started a mission editor section ... could you outline a structure you would like to see ?

Regarding structure for mission editor:

- Tutorial
- Using the different platforms to create realistic scenarios
- Templates (reusable missions which can be a basis for other missions)
- Techniques for making the AI better
- Known shortcomings / workarounds
- Ideas for missions
- Links to useful (external) sites

what do you think?

Sounds good to me.

I have realized most of the stuff already as links on the Main page of the Wiki, tho for the moment I have left out links to external information (are the websites with information about the DW Mission Editor?) and I have moved the improvement of the AI to the Doctrine Language section.

Good ideas, now we need some content :smile:

That's right. :smile:
I hope, that I can write some articles, at least when I enjoy my summer vacation.

Well,

I've added some more links to the Wiki Homepage and along the way changed the layout a bit to make it more accessible and better readable. Further on I added some content here and there but nothing major so far.

Take note we have some new pages
- Abbreviations
- Glossary

For those who haven't much experience with Wiki, Red Links mean that there is absolutly no content behind it. So Mission Editor and Modding section look kinda bleak right now. Nevertheless things are perking up and content is slowly being added by various sources.

I have to give a big thanks to Phil21 who spend a lot of time including the Landlubbers Guide and Kapitans Guide next to other things. As mentioned before, the last days have seen the introduction of even more authors, most notably Molon Labe, but others like Fatty have started to contribute as well.

I'd say before we think about further expanding we should try and get some more content in the existing sections/pages. Most notably the Tactical FAQ as well as the Tutorials/Guides and Manuals section followed by Mission Editor and Modding.

Cheers
OS

How about to introduce a Tips&Tricks section (or is 'Hints' the better English term :confused: ).

A topic could be for example how to increase the maximum time compression rate and so on...

Sounds good ... tho we do have various FAQs already, maybe those hints would fit in them too ... otherwise we can always open up another section. Easier for me would be to have the header and a broad structure ... that way we could set up the framework and it would be easier for everyone to contribute to that "Hints" section.

Allright, there is a new link under Misc ... just open it and add your stuff. If you have problems with formatting, let me know.
