Sub Sailor

My nickname is Sub Sailor. I am retired from the Navy after 24 years and retired as a Master Chief Machinist Mate (SS), I became a teacher and retired about 4 years ago from teaching.
I reside In the mountains of Idaho, where I fly fish, hunt, camp and in the winter I play sims, most generlly subs. I do try to learn the MH-60 and the P-3 in DW, I crash quite well. My real love is subs, I spent many years on them-in the 60s and 70s.
I will try to be a valued member of this site.

Repectfully,

Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret)

Well I am probably that old, but it beats the alternative, I am 65. I was on SSNs and SSBN. You want Dolphins get an edcucation and enlist, volunteer for sub duty and you are on your way. I was nuclear trained but eventually became Chief of The Boat. I loved sub duty and I would do it again. I am a very lucky man I have only had two jobs in my life-the Navy and Educator and I loved them both.
I am betting I am old enough to be your Grand Father.

Best of luck,

Ron Banks MMCM(SS),USN(Ret)

Hee yeah, your certainly old enough to be my grandfather. I certainly hope my results are good enough for me to enter into a good college. Then I'll be on my way to silent service, or at least in the navy. I don't really know what's the criteria for selection in my country though. Besides we own 4 rusty old Swedish subs & I'm just wondering if they're just good enough to protect the sea lanes... :frown:

Welcome abord Ron.
I think I have already heard about you in other sites.
We are organizing regular matches here and you will be very welcomed.
Of course since I drive FFG would surely be not very confortable to have a very experienced Sub driver (real life and in Sims) on the OPFOR but would be surely interesting.
This site is very interesting and you will find it very eaguer to ideas and proposals.
Also the all info about how to drive the subs better would be interesting, even for us the skimmers
Welcome aboard!!!

Oh heck guys I will post some and you can modify them anyway you want. I have no problem at all if some of you really sharp desingers take one of my crude attempts and make them into a really good mission.
I would just like to see us keep improving DW and SC, and of course I will lean towards subs, especially US Subs.
So never fear on something I post and one of you make it better or completely rebuilding it, one of the advantage of getting older, and others on this forum will tell you, ego ain't a big problem after 60.

Been there done that,

Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret)
