@TLAM : I've done a bit layout work, nothing substantial tho. Hope you like that. As you can see its possible to organize the individual sections "depth-wise". Would it be possible for you to send me all the originals of the pics you used in your Kilo guide or gimme a link where I can download the whole batch? Because I'd like to add those pics to the Wiki Guide version as well (makes for a nice reading) and its a lot better to use the originals and resize them then take the ones in the PDF file.

Just a bit layout work with the weapons. I would suggest to change the layout to a more 'modular' one so it's easier to read special parts of it (e.g. the weaponsection).
How about this general layout :
* 1 The Kilo Doctrine
.....o 1.1 Introduction
.....o 1.2 Before you leave port
* 4 Kilo Specifications
* 5 Operating on or near the surface
..........o 5.1 Rig ship for heavy rolls!
..........o 5.2 Transiting
..........o 5.3 Zen and the art of a battery charge
* 6 Arctic Operations or how I joined the North Pacific Yacht Club
* 7 Multiplayer and Multistation
..........o 7.1 Interfleet communications with the chatbox
..........o 7.2 Intership communications with the chatbox
..........o 7.3 Multistation and maximizing search capabilities
* 8 Sensors:
..........o 8.1 SONAR (general)
..........o 8.2 Using the SSAZ and FRAZ Sonar Displays
..........o 8.3 Electronic Warfare:
..........o 8.4 Periscope and Standimeter:
* 9 Weapons & Weapons Employment
..........o 9.1 Direct Hit! Sending the enemy to the bottom
..........o 9.2 Making the Attack
..........o 9.3 Kilo Torpedo Armament
..........o 9.4 The Klub missile system
..........o 9.5 The SS-N-15 Starfish
..........o 9.6 Kilo SAM Armament
* 12 Tactics
..........o 12.1 Group Tactics
.............o 12.1.1 Cooperating with other diesels
.............o 12.1.2 Cooperating with nuclear subs
.............o 12.1.3 Defending a Boomer
.............o 12.1.4 Operating with a Fast Attack
.............o 12.1.5 Operating with surface ships
.............o 12.1.6 Operating with ASW aircraft
..........o 12.2 ASW Tactics
.............o 12.2.1 Help there is an enemy nuclear submarine after me!
.............o 12.2.2 How do I hunt an enemy diesel submarine?
..........o 12.3 Help I’m being engaged by enemy ASW forces!
.............o 12.3.1 Enemy ASW Search Tactics
.............o 12.3.2 Fixed Wing ASW
.............o 12.3.3 Rotary ASW
..........o 12.4 Weapon Evasion
.............o 12.4.1 Torpedoes from surface ships
.............o 12.4.2 Torpedoes from aircraft
.............o 12.4.3 Anti-Submarine Rockets
.............o 12.4.4 Types of ASROCs
................o 12.4.4.1 Depth Charges
* 13 Special Operations
* 13 Going where nucs fear to tread
* 14 Conn Sonar Crazy Ivan!!
* 15 Someone just dropped 45 cents… Pulling a “Down Periscope”
* 16 Mine Warfare
* 17 When the $#!& hits the fan
* 18 So they’ve deployed everything they have against you
* 19 So you’ve been “worn out”
* 20 Conclusion
* 21 Things to remember
* 22 Appendix A
..........o 22.1 Types of torpedoes used by Surface and Air ASW forces
..........o 22.2 Surface ship decoys
..........o 22.3 Your counterparts
* 23 “I will require the names of those responsible!”
I'm not sure how to do this with the red marked part (i just haven't read it yet), but i think the rest would profit from this layout, although some minor changes to the text could be necessary...but if it's accepted i would start to change it.
What do you think?
BTW: the pictures for the different weapons are already uploaded and used in the "KILO - Weapons" page....

Looking good. I'll get around to sending a zip of all the images I used sometime this week if I can remember.

Instead of sending those pics by email you can upload them on the FTP Server and ill get them there. Just let me know when you are done uploading.

I had to email them to you OS. If I missed any check subguru's Multimedia page for the Screen saver image collections. Thats where I got most of the images.

No offence, but since nobody complains about my suggested index, im going to change the article now...I really think it looks better.
@TLAM:
Since i might have to change the text in some of the paragraphs to fit better, you might want to have look at the changed sections (I'll try to mark them in the History).

@TLAM : Unless something has seriously changed, your idea with pulling a "Down Periscope" wont work vs. a human player in the P-3 or MH-60. Even when hiding under a large ship two MAD contacts are plotted on the Navmap. Thus with a quick glance with the camera or simply out of the window you will see the discrepancy between those two contacts on the map and the one ship driving around.
There should even be an AAR around at the CADC where I describe such an event ... played a Mission with Smuook vs. Beer and Beer tried to hide his Akula under a Tanker ... no luck.

I think that one might be tagged for deletion in the next verson of the guide.
