Ok, lets use this thread for anthing that can be changed in the DangerousWaters.INI file. This file can be found in folder you installed DW to and has many halpfull setting that can be changed here and no where else. Also has many setting that can be changed in game to but no need to mention them here as they easy to change. To open it and make changes use any text editor. Note pad will do nothing fancy needed.

I have a few that may help to get us started.

.PlayerName "?????" -This line can be used to add names with spaces and names longer than the the game will let you in main menu. Some keyboear carecters will not be allowed but it will do no harm to try them.

.Seed 1133041234 -This one can be set if you testing to reduce the randomness of some things in game. The modders would be best ones to ask about this one.

.SkipOpening Yes
.SkipCredits Yes
.SkipMovies Yes -These 3 are handy and will speed up time it takes to open and close the game

.CameraFOV 60 -Have never messed with this one but guessing it changes the Field of View. Not sure what help this could be  but added it anyhow. If anyone can expand on it further please do.

.RunInWindow No - Can use this to run game in window mode. There is a setting in game for this to so prob no need to change it here. btw. your desktop must be in 16bit before window mode will work.

.Gamma "0.7" - This changes the Gamma(brightness) of your game. Only works in full screen mode and not windowed mode. Values that can be used are 0.1 to 1. Lower the number the brighter your game. higher the number the darker the game. See thread about changing gamma to see why this seeting is verry importaint.

.SoftwareCursor No - Think this is new one from ver 1.03 of DW. This is an extract from the readme of 1.03
"A hardware accelerated cursor has been included as the default rendering of the cursor
assuming that your video hardware supports it (this functionality is detected when the
game starts for the first time). If you are having graphical difficulties and the game
tends to "lock up" after having exited a mission in the Debrief screen, you may disable
the hardware cursor in the dangerouswaters.ini file"

.DisableRoomBG No - Think this may be new to DW103. Havnt tried it but may disable the background noise you hear in some stations. This is just a guess though and has not been tested. Anyone else know about this one?

.MaxPingVolume 70 - This one is a must to be changed. With 1.03 i sure pings from torps are much louder so this is one i will be changing soon . Lower numberd means less ping volume. higher numbers means more. Guessing that 100 is max and 0 is min settings.

.SubComms No
.ReplenishStations No - Dont know if these work. they used to work for Fleet Command and maybe SC. Subcomms lets subs link and recieve radio while submerged. Well it used to in FC. ReplenishStations would i guess give u unlimited weapons if it still works. Some stuff in this file are left over from FC and SC i am guessing and those ones may not do anything.

.SurfAutoEngageAir Yes
.AirAutoEngageAir Yes
.SurfAutoIDAir Yes
.EngageDoctrine No
.AllowAAMTargeting No
.SalvoWarheadMethod Yes
.SpeedOrdersPersist No
.ShowTheDead Yes
.SalvoLimit 8
.FiringAltExcess 250
.MinAirAttackRng 1250
.MinHeloAttackRng 1000
.SalvoMissilesPerPointIncrement 2
.SalvoPointIncrement 250 - All these to may be left overs from FC or SC. Some may work some may not. Sure someone can enlighten us about them :arms:

.SaveReplay No - This one will give you the option to save your relays to a file while in game. Playing then issomething else though.:frown:

.AdapterName "default" -This can be used if you are having trouble conecting to a MP game or hosting one. See the DW readme for details or ask around here.

Thats all i have for now. Hoping someone else can add some more or help with the ones that i not sure about.

I believe this only applies to the 3d view with the navmap. Setting it to a larger value lets you see better to the sides, but makes it harder to see far.
Changing the value either way will likely make the perspective seem weird, at least until you get used to it. FOV=60 is a standard value for most pc games.

.SubComms No
.ReplenishStations No - ...............

.AirAutoEngageAir Yes

These are leftovers from Fleet Command. Most of them only affects the Fleet command user interface.

Sub comms let a player call a sub up to comms depth any time. ReplenishStations was to have the game automatically launch new aircraft to replace those that were already on 'stations'.
SurfAutoEngageAir Would allow the ships to engage incoming missiles and aircraft without the player telling them to target each and every one. (And woe to the player that missed one!)

The rest also affect the FC user interface more than anything else. Possibly with the exception of the salvo rules.
