Nice .. hey that is this VS of yours right ? The screenshot suggests they have billowing underwater view (I mean the shapes are distorted) .. right ?
I can understand that GTA SA falls for such cliche .. but it is in SH4 too .. and now VS ? I'm really disappointed.

no, it isnt in VS, I photoshoped that pic quite a bit, VS doesnt have it but I wish it did, I like it. I would also like water particles and "run off" as you come out of the water but it doesnt have that either.

Russian props have a crucifrom shape on the end. Something to do with the flow coming off the end. Though I'd let you know so you can get it looking good. I like the texturing you have done.

Bartolomeus

thats right Scott...but the Thresher/Permit class has no distinctive teardrop shape. here is a pic of the Thresher. and the Plunger in the drydock.

I thought those classes had the same basic shape hull as the skipjack but stretched out longer and wider.......

I have found a few decent free 3d models of civilian vessels that are in .3ds format.
If you want I can send them in.
Also have a good KA-27 but it is very poly heavy.

Nice .. but isn't the screw rotating the opposite way ? I like how the wake copies the shape of the sub. Does VS do it simply from the model, or do you have to define some simpler shape for collisions and thing like this ?
SpookyMuFu
12-17-2011, 09:20 AM
hahaha, I knew someone was going to say that, yeah it does look like that in the video because of the software I use to capture, it isnt high enough resolution to capture it accurately, but no, it does turn the correct way. The wake is a preset bmp file, it looks the same for every ship, it looks "right" on this one but it looks "off" on others, just a limit of the "sim".
