Hellos! Long time no topic from me!
One thing that has been on my mind lately is sensors. The vital part that tells you what your MK1 can't.
The talk on DCS: Black Shark seems to indicate that there will be no Longbow Apache in the near future (Only the A model) partly due to the fact that they have no means to implement good Air to Ground radar yet. A severe limitation in my view and one that could have been avoided if it had been part of the system early on.
So while AG radar is not as important as air to sea radar in a subsim. It does bring the point forward that perhaps discussion needs to be started on this subject now rather than later.
And seeing as this forum has little activity I see this as a good time to start it.

Air to ground radar

Normally I would say that this is a useless feature in a subsim. But to have a realistic Air to Sea radar system many of these attributes apply. Therefore I think it is a handy feature to consider.
I am not talking about the advanced AG modes of the F-16 just a basic adaption.

My guess is this is going to require that a spectrum system be implemented. Sure you can just make things stand out (Units, trees, whatever) to a FLIR sensor but where is the fun in that?

Night Vision

What is a SubSim without the ability to use Night Vision?
This will likely just be simple shader work. But just posted for reference.

Anything to Air Radar

What can I say? When you need to detect a Cessna or a Shipwreck missile inbound you need a good Air radar.

On the FLIR topic some videos of why having a good FLIR system is so important.
