Well you know what the Navy makes to the skippers that ground its ships

I recommend you that when you are near the coast, shallows or in Ice pack areas, you keep a prudent speed.
This way you and free yourself and the damage is not so high.

For that mission, there is a path you can take between the mine "strings".

Question ? About those mines in the river African Bee's nest mission
would they be contact mines? or they would go off if you got to close?
I saw them on the bow sonar Hi Freq.
About Navation down the river ? I have truth off. For some reason setting the waypoints on map don't seem to work? Looking out window
F1 the horizion is not clear Horzion has a saw tooth line look to it
hard to tell the coast line? Seem's like changing couse with compass
and looking at Map on F5 is best. Seems like the rudder does not move when you make a couse change? I find it very hard to drive the FFG down that river and know were you are at? I can nav a German U Boat
in SH3 up a river or channel to port just standing on Bridge and use the speed and rudder control. And the Radar on the FFG does not seem to show the land like the sub radar? I see the surface and air sweep.
Guess I am asking to many questions:frown:
Thank's for any info.
Yes that's bad grounding the FFG. Old days guess they would make me walk the plank:biggrin: I guess today Court Marshal and early Retirement
Hey early Retirement won't work I am all ready "Retired"

You can blast a hole in the mine field with torpedoes... ;)

Strike,
Thank's that's a good idea. Have you done it?
So you are a Kilo driver? Watch out your Batteries don't run down and have to
snorkel. And one of those P-3's drop a torp or missle above the clouds on you.
OS mit do that.

Yea I've use fish and mine sweepers. Just make sure they are active and enable them like you would against a normal target. Passive and Wakehoming fish don't work against mines normally.

Once my Kilo runs out of battery juice I just fire up the diesels, pour some whiskey in the tank and they never catch me!

Next time you play that mission, use the mark button in the HF sonar - the marks on the map should show a gap in the minefield.
