the interior of my Type XXIII submarine is coming together in the modeller...
http://home.att.net/~mikey102/3DRADType23ControlRoom_1.jpg
seeing as i could not find any photos of the interior of a Type XXIII, it is purely conjectural, and strongly influenced on pictures of the control room of the Type XXI, which are a lot easier to find...
suggestions and critiques welcome...
thx

ok... seeing as it's a lil slow around the docks... here's something to look at...
lightmapping tests on untextured type 23 interior model...
what the above stuff looks like when lit and shadowed badly ;D
starting from the back end and looking forward,

the engine room... still needs a lil more detailing...
moving forward and passing through the hatch
http://home.att.net/~mikey102/BlitzType23IntLM2.jpg
the aft end of the control room...
moving forward in the control room
http://home.att.net/~mikey102/BlitzType23IntLM3.jpg
to where the sub is actuall controlled... the zentralle it's called ? ?
passing through the hatch and entering the crew berthing

area... forward you can see the door to the small torpedo room...
(lightmapped in Giles 2 beta, shots from scene running in Blitz3d)

Looking quite nice to me ... even if its allegedly lit/shadowed in the wrong way.

Well done, Red.
Even the first sketch has an atmospheric quality and the others build on that.

since it's been kinda quiet in the lobby, here's a few of the latest Type XXIII shots as the final model gets fitted out...
if you look back at the first shots of this model, you can see how far it's come since its inception... correct door (hatch) shapes... a lil texturing and some better lighting...
it's getting there...
