OneShot fires a SLAM-ER at the Shivalik

...which takes a funny turn and hits a trawler.

The Indian heloes get shot down, but not before linking the formation's course to us.

A 5-SLAMM-ER 2-prong attack against the Shivalik < SM-2 + 2 CIWS.

P-3s should not be flying within SAM range of the Shivalik.

Looks like I've been linked my an AI monitoring the buoy. ASWnut is on the way.

The irony:
ML: Have you guys seen if Oneshot's been flying in the south? Was wondering if I have buoys in my way.
Phil: I don't think you're clear.
ML: OK, this will be my last sprint then.

ASWNut is on the hunt.

Getting into a missile slinging contest without AEGIS is FAIL.

Phil takes his shot... two acoustic homers and two wakehomers.

The Bataan takes two hits from the acoustic weapons but survives. The wakehomers keep going.

AI 688I takes out Phil. One of the wakehomers acquires the formation leading Perry, but doesn't quite have the range to reach him.

Actually, no. I noticed that the Deep bouy was still hot, even though it was displaying things well below the layer. When I saw a fishing boat to the south-southwest of it, I got suspicious. Radar sweep returned nothing, so I knew there was one of you down there.

It's too bad Oneshot got killed so early. He could have helped remove the other two subs. It was a fun game anyway.

P.S. What happened to my helo after I lost connection? It was right after the Perry and Leander were destroyed.

Why would it be unusual for a hot deep buoy to display things below the layer? Now I'm thinking that I wasn't too loud after all and that it was the whale that got you to come runnin...

I definitely spent way too long above the layer at tactical speed after that though. Die and learn....

Probably not making any sense right now, but whatever.

What I meant is that there were two bouys next to each other, one shallow and one deep. The shallow detected our convoy to the NE and a whale to the SE (which I confirmed with other sensors). The deep one did not "detect" anything (no frequency lines at all), yet it was still hot. As I moved over to it, it then displayed a 50hz line to the SW. I went on from there...

Just the fact that it was hot even though nothing was detected at the time.

OK that makes more sense, decent odds I set the thing off then.
