Vista Operating System

Hi All,
I'm getting ready to purchase a new laptop computer. Vista will be the operating system, unfortunately. Will DW play on a Vista machine? Is there a patch available?

I did an advanced search and cannot find any information on Vista in the forum.

It seems that DW works with Patch 1.04 usually on both Vista 32/64. However some people have posted in the subsim and SCS forums about having problems on Vista, mostly graphics related if I remember correctly. I'd say - give it a try .. your chances are better than even that it works.

The game, since it has no copy protection to speak of (at least the retail versions, so steam version is excluded) should work without any problem on vista 32/64 and xp 64.
The only "problem" is that new DX 10 cards render the game in a very crappy way since the game is 16 bit color and the cards don't support anymore dithering. If you want a good looking DW stop ad dx 9 cards for ati, and 6600 era cards for nvidia. Anything newer and the graphics on screen will be very very disappointing.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have the original disks for DW and all of the patches. Looking at 64 bit machine.

Mods work well too. Nothing glitchy about Vista. (32-bit, anyhow)
