Anyone up for some MP?
I'll have a new scenario ready to go for Saturday. The setup:
Ukraine has become a NATO member. Russia seizes the Crimea peninsula, and it looks like Russia is trying to do to Crimea what it did with Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008. NATO comes to the aid of its newest member, putting a CAP up over the Ukraine and sending in surface forces to block Russian reinforcements by sea.
Russia plans make NATO pay for taking sides by raiding merchant shipping in the Aegean heading to or from NATO ports. Russia has two submarines in theatre, which could be anywhere. They're mission is to locate, identify, and sink as much NATO shipping as they can without getting sunk themselves. Some intel is provided to the subs about the names, positions, and routes of target traffic. The subs can be sure of their targets by VID if they get close enough.
US/NATO forces include a P-3, FFG&helo, and possibly a SSN688I. They start at peacetime ROE, but will change to wartime if the Russians attack.
