I re-downloaded DW (legally btw, through the digital-rivers) for the third time After installing when I clicked play I got a message saying my cd key is expired meaning I would have to buy a new game or get it activated.
The chance of Tech support giving me a new one is a fat chance (due to those dirt-bag reverse engineering pirates). I have it on three different computers for LAN games, I tried browsing the .exe file to see if I could put a string to bypass the automatic registration but wouldn't work.
Thanks

? Kinda weird question given the fact that DW has no copy protection whatsoever (one could argue that the complexity of the game is copy protection enough :)). If a retailer has incorporated a copy protection then you better take your chances with their tech support because a) I have not the faintest how to bypass this heretofore unheard mechanism (at least as far as DW is concerned) and b) any further discussion about bypassing any copy protection will be immediatly and completely deleted and the poster will be warned. A second offense buys an immediate ban.

Thats what you get by buying oops renting the game through digital delivery.
Had you bought the game in store, you would have payed 10 $ and enjoyed unlimited installs, no bullshit activation or any other kind of nasty draconian drm.

lol truth be told, the digital downloading is the worst way because of the DRM
But thanks for the input guys; I appreciate it, I hate having to go to tech because it takes months of "back and forth" to solve a problem.

Plavcheck, your best bet is to buy DW at retail.
It costs around 10$ and you will never has to ask a third party permission to play the game. Its the best way to enjoy Dangerous Waters.
