View Full Version : Persian Gulf Nightmare. MP Multistation Challenge (Match)
Furia
12-07-2005, 05:47 PM
This time we aim for higher. Saturday 17th December 2200 GMT we will make the most of this sim on MP.
Scenario would be Persian Gulf, Allied Forces try to keep free navigation and prevent a blockade of sea traffic by Iranian Forces.
Allied Task Force:
1 P-3 (multistation) Assigned to Oneshot and crew
1 FFG (Singlestation) : Furia
1FFG (Multistation) Seawolves Surface Divission: Labo, Bud, JoGary
Iranian Blokade Forces:
1Kilo (Multistation) Lutwolf, TLAM_Strike and SKeet
1Kilo (Multistation) Xabbarus, Kapitain, Kiwi Zero Six
This makes a nice combat of 13 to 14 players
On this scenario every platform would have different goals and missions while the overall outcome would be a team effort.
The map will have minefields, fighters, arms smuglers, SAM, SSM, patrol boats ect.
Coordination, team effort and skill would be really needed. We aim for the most realistic combat so we estimate it last between 2 and 3 hours.
Of course we will be using Beta patch 1.03 + LWAMI realism patch for maximum realism.
At this moment we have avalaible for this match a capable Iranian Kilo Class submarine. We are offering this possition to a crew of people (minimum3) that can work as a team on it.
Any crew that want to take this sub and are ready to challenge some skilled players contact us here.

Can I take the other Kilo?
I'll see if I can get someone else to join me, but at the mo I'd prefer to skipper it alone.
I have a mic and was wondering what voice commsn you are using?

You'll have to use the Mod Xabba...
I'll be on TS. I have a couple servers or we can use the Orion Warrior Server, I would imagine, if OS can get us permission.

Using the OW TS is of course no problem. Just look over at the OW Homepage for IP, password and other needed stuff in that regard.

Attention all hands!!
One Iranian Kilo would be fully manned by New Yorkers!
Luftwolf, TLAM_Strike and SKeet.
I feel the free traffic on the Persian Gul is compromised :hijacked:
So far we will be about 13 to 14 players on this combat. This promises to be interesant
Crew assignements would be posted on the first post if this thread.

Gentlemen.
Since we have had so many requests, stay tunned on this forum and we will soon post if we can accomodate more players and wich platforms.
Main problem is that I have to modify the map, each platform have to have proper spacing, and so far blockade forces are just 2 Kilos wich have to fight their way on shallow water and to keep it balanced we can not drop on them the whole 6th Fleet.
Let me see what we can do with this scenario.
We are still reserving the second kilo for a MS crew (minumum 2) however if no capable crew shows up we will asign it for one single skkiper.
One note about the game set up.
Based on our previous experiences about game set up, we would like that people show up sharp in time, so if the game is supposed to begun at 2200GMT, that by that time people is already connected to the host and with TS running those who want to be connected with that.
We all value our time and unless we get organized properly and in time, we could waste about 30 minutes to set up the game.
I will post on this forum the multiplayer settings that we are using but if somebody likes it different for his platfform, he just have to ask here. This way we will also save the time while seting up the game to review the MP settings one by one and your game time would be just game time and fun :arms:
Stay tunned to this forum for updats on the scenario.

Gentlemen for future matches and to accommodate for the best times for scheduling, not this one of Saturday 17th wich stays as already scheduled, would be really good to have your oppinion about your preferred times for matches voting on this poll (http://www.orionwarrior.com/forum/showthread.php?t=729)
This way we will try to accomodate better our real life schedules and the matches.

When MP games are being set up here could we use ZULU hours as the time zone instead of saying GMT. ZULU=GMT and i like the way it sounds better:biggrin: And considering what we are playing here it kind of makes sence. I belive all Navys in the world use ZULU hours.
OneShot
12-16-2005, 07:03 AM
Nope, the US Navy uses ZULU as a common point for their clocks, while the german navy uses a different one. Same goes for Russian and probably some other navies. Generally speaking (USN seems to be the exception) do Navys use the timezone that is prevalent in their capital to set their clocks.

Yea the US military uses ZULU and as far as i know its really GMT time.

So how do we get the IP of the host? Will it be posted here?
I am sorry for the noobish question; I've only played one multi game before and that was via ICQ.
Furia
12-17-2005, 03:28 AM
I will pass the host IP on ICQ about 15 minutes before game start.
My ICQ number is 119714069
From there we will move to server.
Thos of you on multistation, if you want to be on a voice comms program, try to have this set before the game so we get no delays.
Once again let me remind you that for this game we will be using 1.03 Beta + LWAMI 3.0
See you soon

Hey guys, sorry about the microphone issue. My soundcard input gave up the ghost... I ran out and grabbed a USB upgrade so next time I'll be good.
I wish I could have joined the second game, but I had to run out.
How did it go???

The second mission was a clean sweap for me LW. I nailed the mission objective (an AOR) with a salvo of 6 Klub ASMs then I dived under the layer and sneaked away with the blue side chasing their own tales (and Kiwi).
