An excellent dive using an old SCHQ map adapted for DW. Kichu started West of me and apprarently detected me early and patrolled carefully west trying to reacquire. I patolled NW, sprinting and drifting, looking for contacts.
About an hour into the game, I found him. I lost contact due to the layer, found him again by going deep. Once localized, I dove behind a ridge to conceal a 2x65cm shot, which I dogleged around the ridge.
My trick didn't work. Once my torps enabled, he fired north of them instead of on the snapshot bearing. However, my torps were already on top of him, one was decoyed and the other killed him. Kichu said he hesitated too much in reacting to the torp shots (and I agree Twisted Evil ) With no wires on his torps, they were easy to evade.
Thanks for the dive sir!

And speaking of mission 2. The whole dive was "why I was hesistating so much" to me. The mission started at 13.00, I got the initial contact on 13.11 just a bearing line... not always you see biologics that shows 50hz line on narrowband... RC model perhaps  The contact was lost after a while. Had only bearing decided to investigate, regained contact a while later got second NB line which classified the contact as possub. Noticed lots of course and speed changes on the contact, so my TMA was almost always out of date. Decided to go to the deep where the contact was weakest and trying to close slowly.
I followed that way trying to be at the depth where the singal was the weakest or gone (so I assumed hes gonna have problems hearing me to). Made some po-ups to see if hes still there. At approx 13.40/45 I thought I had pretty accurate solution and he was well withing the range of my torpedoes (this was confirmed after game when watching the replay). But I didin't fire... why.. I thought... gonna close a little bit cause he might just outrun my torps and spray me with the missles.
My mistake number 1.
After 15 minutes, Molon detected me and fired his two torps. I wanted to counterfire imeediately, but lost him at that minute. Didnt want to fire snapshot on torps cause i assumed he was going to clear the datum asap. Got the contact fired on him. This was mistake number 2. The lost contact after TIW and my reaquire gave him time. The ridge trick worked apparently some way.
I was heading 180 when heard his TIW @ 91. One of his torp was running straight on me the other southern of my position (crs 260-250 or so). I decided to evade north, ordered course 0, but didnt increase my speed initiall, thought I have time (was doing 3 kts). Realized this when his torps went active and increased speed, but then I was positioned well between his two fishes, one little above me, other little below me on navmap.
I went flank, dropped CM, one torpedo gone (the lower on navmap). Ordered another course change and dropped another CM. By some scientific wild-add guess I thought the second torpedo missed my and is trying to reaquire, but it went into my baffles while turning. Another mistake. So I slowed down a little to look for it (no pings were heard).
And... splash one Kichu
