If multi-key control selection drives you mad why not look at the range of gear out there which can make your life
a lot easier. I ask you Shift + Ctrl + C

Have a look at Xkeys - http://www.ymouse.com/xkeys.php (http://www.ymouse.com/xkeys.php)( Not a plug - I have no connection)
You can set up macros easily, you can group together keys of the same genre and print out your own colour labels
with the integral software.

Oh - am I losing my 'lead' here ?

Well, I have something like that available, but I dont use it. Simply because IMHO there is no need. There are only a few key kombinations I use when playing. I'll list the ones I use the most.

- 0 = Helo : Set Speed to Hover
- 1 = (P-3) Set Speed 154kts / (Helo) Set Speed Slow (50kts or so)
- 3 = (P-3) Set Speed 364kts / (Helo) Set Speed 127kts

- C = Set course (then point and click with the mouse)
- R = Range and bearing Circle starting at the point where my mouse pointer is

- ENTER = Place marks on the map

- SHIFT + 1 = P-3 : Set altitude 300ft (for MAD)
- SHIFT + 2 = Helo : Set altitude 50ft (Dipping)

- SHIFT + CTRL + C = Range Circle on Object
- SHIFT + CTRL + D = Drop Contact

I'm only missing a key to lower and raise the dipping sonar.

A little too quick on the trigger sir.

Not everyone has developed the fast fingers of the Doomers.
Anyway you ignore the benefits of achieving your own logical key layout.

Some, not all, may find this kit usefull and with great respect that is what tips are all about isnt it ?:smile:

I know that not everybody wants to remeber all the keys, and I'm pretty sure I didnt discourage anyone from bying stuff. I just voiced my opinion, that personally I'm happy without one, because I only use a few keystrokes myself. And for those who havent taken the time to visit the options/controls in the game, those few keystrokes might come in handy - so this thread serves even two purposes.
