This was invented by a USN officer and it gives a time to go deep for a variety of threats.Has anybody thought about making one?

The original was home made so it is very possible. All that is needed is the image to be enlarged and sharpened.Over to the forum members.

Like all the best inventions, it's simple. (I bet that's what the guy who invented the wheel said!) It costs almost nothing to make. In a way that's a shame because then Lt. Spears could go into business producing them and make a fortune! I hope he's applied for a patent.
I bet those PCO's did well.

Anybody have an idea what the formula is behind those scales? It's not the first sliderule I made. ;) (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147719) Judging by the crude drawing it must be easy. If I figure out how it's calculating.
[EDIT] Whoops, necromancing here. Nevermind me. :o
