How to organize the Downloads?

Well, since I want to include downloads in the vault the question arises how to handle them. Now I have two solutions available. The first and easiest one to implement is to simply open up a thread for each new download or maybe a thread for a list of downloads (whatever is applicable) and thats it. The Pro's on this are that you can add as many text as you want to it, use attachments (even more then one) or simply links for your downloads and so on and so on. The negative side on this is the fact that you might need a lot (relatively speaking) of clicking to get all downloads (if you want all of them) as opposed to a single page like SubGuru's. The setup for this can be pretty much anything. For starters every developer opens up a thread and adds downloads of his in this thread. Since he can edit all his posts, thats no biggie and if you look for missions from OKO for example you just have to open up that thread and got all of them at one place. Another way would be to use the current setup with 2 or 3 general categories and everybody puts on his stuff, using a thread per mission/whatever he made. Actually you can combine both.

On the other hand I have a Download/Link Plugin for vBulletin which for starters displays all links or downloads on one page (unless I create sub categories), You can add some text, but its more limited then what the forum allows you to do (and not so many helpful buttons :wink: ). Aside from that its kind of a bitch to configure, tho I guess with some work this is bearable.

Bottom line ... what do you guys want? Keep it this way (and change one or two things) or install the plugin and change the system?
