  1. The work continues ...

One small part done ... well mostly done for the moment. The Player Profile / Units page looks like the attached screenshot now. As you can see it looks more organized and structured. Furthermore you will have the option to rename your crewmembers as well as the platform itself.

When a new player registers he will get his first platform and crew with generic names ... his first job should be to customize his boat/ship/plane. Something thats not yet implemented is an image for the ...

Right now I'm working on the display of the Player Stats - in other words - the units and associated crews he currently has available. A design descision I made was that every player only has a slot for only one unit class meaning only one submarine, ship, aircraft or whatever other unit will be implemented along the way. He will be able to "buy" a new type of a certain class, for example go from a Baleo Class Submarine to a Los Angeles Class Submarine (well, probably not that big of a ...

I certainly underestimated my being out-of-shape in regard to coding in PHP. Plus with vB4 the developers did a LOT of things in a different way than before. Adding to those fun facts is the lack of documentation for coders like me ... yes they put explanations in the files and they even have a manual with some very helpful information but there is still a lot you have to learn by simply looking at their code and figuring out how they did it.

But there is a light ...

    Well,

during the drive back from my parents today (talk about long 5 hours) I had a few mre ideas for the game and I just wanna jot them down before forgetting them again.

First off - an incentive for my future Beta Testers ... I thought that after the completion of the Beta every participant gets maybe a special crewmember like "Jonesy" and thus increasing certain stats from the get go. Or maybe a special unit like the SS-161 Stingray to start with (this ...
