I have found this very interesting ARTICLE about the real history of a Soviet SSBN that suffered a missile accident.

I was glad to see it set the record strait on the collison with the US sub thing that shows up in lots of the books and movies on the subject of the K-219.

K-219 sufferd a missile explosion no american submarine was in the area.

However not long after that (matter of hours) had happend an american submarine collided with a Delta I class submarine leading the two events to be confused.
